Dietetics in Poland

You will develop your competencies in the field of dietetics under the supervision of lecturers who are practicing dietitians and psycho-dietitians, and, simultaneously, research workers. In this course, you will learn not only to diagnose health problems but also to recognize the needs of people reporting in the dietician’s practice. You will also learn what nutrition, and diet are most appropriate for a healthy man, depending on their diversified physical activity, age, individual physiology as well as nationality, and dietary preferences.

Dietetics, bachelor’s – 3 years, 2700 €/year (Europe+), 4000 €/year (others)

The knowledge thus gained will give you independence in composing individual, customized diets. You will also gain the competencies necessary to support your clients in their work on enhancing their fitness, performance, and physical condition. You will learn the technology of food processing and the art of composing dishes. You will practice and hone your professional skills in the course of professional placements in specialized units.

You can choose 1 of 3 specializations: Dietetics for physically active people, Dietetics, Counselling, or Psychodietetics.

Dietetics for physically active people

This specialty is addressed to people who want to cooperate with sportsmen of different disciplines in developing a diet that would ensure their adequate performance and condition. In the course of studies, you will also learn how to cooperate with people training in gyms or fitness clubs, amateur runners, or people preparing for expeditions or mounting climbing.

Dietetics Counselling

This specialty has been designed in mind people who are planning to work with people visiting the dietician’s practice. In the course of classes in psychology and interpersonal communication, you will prepare for cooperation with clients and learn to recognize their needs.

Psychodietetics

This is a specialty that offers a unique combination of knowledge from psychology and dietetics. It focuses on understanding the psychological aspects of nutrition. During your studies, you will learn to develop healthy eating habits and identify barriers to healthy eating and strategies to counteract them. You will also develop social competencies related to the identification, understanding, treatment, and prevention of eating disorders. During your studies, you will learn what motivational dialogue is and how to mentally support patients in changing their eating habits.
